Agate Falls

These scenic waterfalls are nestled under a railroad trestle, adding historical interest to the already picturesque falls. The trail to the falls is not long but is moderately difficult in grade. The parking area and hiking trail are maintained by Michigan DOT. While the waterfalls are not on National Forest Lands, they are almost completely surrounded by Ottawa National Forest. The parking area is generally maintained May through October.

Directions

From Bruce Crossing take M28 east for 7 miles where the parking area will be located on the right. From Trout Creek take M28 west for 4 miles where the parking area will be located on the left.

Closest Towns: Bruce Crossing is 7 miles to the West

Day Hikes Info

The short hike to the waterfall is paved to a viewing platform at the end of the trail. The hike is not long but a moderately difficult grade. The trail is not maintained in the winter by Michigan DOT.
