Russian River Campground

This large campground has 83 sites, paved roads and spurs, but no hookups. It also offers water, flush toilets, tables, fire pits, and dumpsters.

ATTENTION: Campers Using Tents or Soft-sided Trailers - Be Bear Aware

Bears have damaged tents and soft-sided trailers within Russian River Campground in the past. For your safety and the safety of others, please store all attractants - food, garbage, hygiene items, and anything with a smell - in a hard-sided vehicle or in the storage locker provided on site.

Be aware that bear incidents within the Campground may trigger immediate prohibitions on tent and soft-sided vehicle camping. If issued, an Emergency Order will require campers using these types of shelters to vacate the Campground.

Fishing - River/Stream Info

Visitors can fish the Russian River for rainbow trout and sockeye and coho salmon during the open seasons. Visit the Alaska Department of Fish & Game's website to review fishing regulations and purchase a license.

Note: Salmon fish counts are monitored throughout Alaska and determine the daily limits for sport, commercial and subsistence fishing. Any person fishing in Alaska should be aware that the limits are subject to change and/or restriction depending on the fish count.

Emergency orders, often restricting the harvest of king salmon, can be issued at any time and have the same force and effect as law. Be sure to check the ADF&G's Emergency Order and Press Releases page prior to fishing.
