The spotted lanternfly feeds on and damages a number of tree and shrub species. It can be spread by movement of plant materials, rail cars, vehicles, trailers, outdoor equipment, lawn furniture, etc. To help stop the spread of this pest use precautions if traveling from quarantined counties. Please follow the compliance checklist found on the site to ensure the pest is not spread.
Symptoms of Spotted Lanternfly:
- Discoloration and drooping of leaves.
- Grey, putty like egg masses on trees, metal, equipment, etc.
- Flying moths, colorful, unusual moth
If found, remove, devitalize, place in a sealed bag, and dispose of bag in the garbage.
