Geospatial Data

USDA Forest Service Geodata Clearinghouse

An online collection of digital data related to forest resources. Through the Clearinghouse you can find datasets related to forests and grasslands, including boundaries and ownership, natural resources, roads and trails, as well as datasets related to State and private forested areas, including insect and disease threat and surface water importance. You can also find downloadable map products, raster data, and links to other sources of forest resource information.

Forest Service Enterprise Data

A single point of access for data collected and managed by the Agency. Use the Data Extract Tool to access data about individual forests or grasslands or about an area of interest specified on the national map. Find and download National datasets by topic area or theme or find and use map services published by the Agency.

National Datasets

Data collected and managed by Forest Service programs is available in a map service and two downloadable file formats – in a shape file and an ESRI file geodatabase. Metadata is available that describes the content, source, and currency of the data. You can filter the list by the topic categories in the menu at the left to help you find information. You can view the feature classes in a single dataset by clicking on the name of the parent dataset at the bottom of the abstract.

Geospatial Data Discovery Tool

The Forest Service has configured this open data site to help our partners and the public discover geospatial data published by the Agency. This tool allows users to download portions of a national dataset by Forest or by a user specified area of interest.

ANF Datasets

Allegheny National Forest (ANF) datasets that are not included as National GIS datasets are available for download on the Pennsylvania Spatial Data Access (PASDA) website which is Pennsylvania's official public access open geospatial data portal. The data made available through PASDA is provided by data partners to encourage the widespread sharing of geospatial data, eliminate the creation of redundant data sets, and to further build an inventory (through the development and hosting of metadata) of available data relevant to the Commonwealth. PASDA serves as a resource for locating data throughout the Commonwealth through its data storage, interactive mapping applications, and metadata/documentation efforts. Search by keyword(s) Allegheny National Forest.
