Wildfire Prevention and Safety for Visitors to our National Forests

Each year, fire resources respond to numerous human-caused fires. Since 2000, human-caused fires have accounted for the majority of acres burned on the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National Grassland. Please be fire safe in your enjoyment of the forest and help prevent wildfires.

Wildfire Prevention and Home Risk Mitigation for Property Owners in the Wildland-Urban Interface

Much of our forest is located in the wildland-urban interface. The urban interface is defined as an area where urban communities mix with adjacent wildland areas increasing the complexity and magnitude of problems related to all aspects of natural resource management and direction, including increased fire risks. Many resources are available to help the homeowner increase the chances of their home surviving a catastrophic wildfire.
