Plant-A-Tree Program

Centennial tree plantingThe Plant-A-Tree program is a way individuals, groups and businesses can have trees planted on  national forests to memorialize loved ones, commemorate births, weddings, anniversaries, or other special events while helping to improve the environment.

For a minimum donation of $10, donors receive acknowledgement of their gift and a certificate, suitable for framing, sent to the person or family specified by the donor. This certificate states the name of the person being honored and by whom the contribution is made.

The minimum donation supports the purchase and planting of 10 to 15 seedlings suitable for the planting site. The trees will not be individually recognized, but will be part of the forest ecosystem.

Contributions are deposited into a special fund used only to plant trees. By making a donation directly to the National Forests in Florida, you can be assured the trees will be planted on the Osceola, Apalachicola or Ocala National Forests.

Please use our printable form (pdf 26kb) to provide the necessary information to make your donation.

Contributions qualify as charitable deductions. Checks should be made payable to: US Forest Service. Please write "Plant-A-Tree" on the memo portion of the check.

Businesses may participate in the program as long as their participation is non-commercial. Special partnership agreements can be set up with groups.

By participating in the Plant-A-Tree program, you are helping to conserve and sustain our forest ecosystems for the future as well as honor a special person.
