Maps for Mobile Devices
Many USDA Forest Service maps are available for free download or purchase through the Avenza PDF Maps Store. To use them, you must download the Avenza app, available for iOS and Android devices.
Forest Service topography maps overlay USDA Forest Service roads, trails and campgrounds on U.S. Geological Survey topographic maps. They are available for download by quadrangle and are geo-referenced PDFs. This means they have latitude and longitude information embedded and can be used with an app like PDF Maps from Avenza to use your mobile device's built-in GPS to show your location on the map.
