CIO: Current Adobe Connect licenses renewed through Feb. 26, 2022
The main point
The Forest Service renewed current Adobe Connect application licenses through Feb. 26, 2022. Please note that the application will be decommissioned after Feb. 26, as the U.S. Department of Agriculture made the decision to use Microsoft Teams as its enterprise solution for web conferencing.
When the licenses expire, the application will no longer be available for use; therefore, host and license owners will not have access to content stored in Adobe Connect. Host and license owners need to download or delete any recorded videos and uploaded content (e.g., PowerPoints, PDFs, etc.) in Adobe Connect by Feb. 26.
What you need to do
- Review the FS Adobe Connect Decommissioning SharePoint site (internal link) for the most up-to-date information, announcements and FAQs (internal link).
- For instructions on how to download or delete meeting recordings, go to How to Manage Recorded Meetings (internal link).
- Note: Downloading a recorded meeting will take some time as the recording will need to play through its entire length to be saved correctly offline. For instance, a meeting that is one hour long will take one hour to download. Please plan your time for downloads accordingly. In addition, consider editing your recordings in Adobe Connect before saving them to your computer. Please also note that Adobe Connect does not work well in the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser; therefore, using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge is recommended.
- For instructions on how to download or delete uploaded content, go to How to Manage Uploaded Content (internal link).
- Start to transition your virtual meetings and trainings to the Microsoft Teams environment. Detailed information, trainings, and how-to guides are located on the FS Teams SharePoint site (internal link).
