Feds Feed Families: Ample Harvest collaboration
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Since 2014, AmpleHarvest.org has collaborated with Feds Feed Families to educate and enable federal employees who enjoy gardening, to donate their surplus harvest locally and have it count as a Feds Feed Families contribution.
AmpleHarvest.org is a nationwide program that enables America’s 62 million home and community gardeners to donate their surplus harvest to one 9,000 local AmpleHarvest.org food pantries across all 50 states.
A few important things for employees to know about Ample Harvest and Feds Feed Families:
- The opportunity to donate food from their garden to a local food pantry continues even after Feds Feed Families ends. Indeed, employees are encouraged to donate for the rest of their gardening life – even if they change jobs and are no longer employed by the government.
- The website for AmpleHarvest.org is currently being rebuild. The new version will be ready next month and it’ll have an entirely new look and feel, plus new capabilities.
- If your department or agency would like to schedule a webinar about AmpleHarvest.org and Feds Feed Families, please email info@AmpleHarvest.org to set up a date/time.
- Learn more about the collaboration between FFF and Ample Harvest by viewing the TED talk, impact videos at or view the Feds Feed Presentation from the June 2 FFF launch.

AmpleHarvest.org is working hard to help make Feds Feed Families a major success again this year—especially given the challenge that millions of families are experiencing nationwide. As an employee, your garden bounty can be an important part of that.
