WASHINGTON, D.C.—Recently, Forest Service employees received an email invitation to participate in the 2021 National Work Environment Survey. We thank those who have already completed the survey for their feedback, and encourage those who have not yet taken the survey to do so today.

The 2021 National Work Environment Survey assesses employee work satisfaction, perceptions of the work environment and workplace experiences. Responses will help ensure an accurate assessment of your immediate workplace environment, as well as that of the agency as a whole. The survey is voluntary. Your response to the survey is important and encouraged and will directly influence future actions undertaken by the agency.

All responses will be kept confidential. WEPO has taken multiple steps to ensure your confidentiality, including partnering with Fors Marsh Group, an independent research firm, to conduct this survey and to analyze the results. Only aggregated results will be reported, and data/results from subgroups with fewer than 10 individuals will not be reported. Results from this survey will be used to track progress toward improving the agency’s work culture and to identify next steps.

The 2021 National Work Environment Survey is considered official business, which means that employees can complete it using government computers during work time. The survey should take about 30–45 minutes to complete.

To log into the survey, use the unique PIN sent via email to each employee.

Temporary or term employees, may have also received a postcard invitation to complete the survey with a link and PIN or a QR code. A Frequently Asked Questions document is available online. Please contact FSsurveyhelp@forsmarshgroup.com with any questions or technical difficulties.
