Civil Rights: Deaf and hard of hearing services
It has come to my attention that there may have been a miscommunication about the WO Civil Rights Office interim agency-wide contract for deaf and hard of hearing services. This temporary contract bridges service gaps. It does not replace any existing service contracts or reasonable accommodations in place for employees. Please do not cancel or let your current service contracts expire.
The Washington Office Civil Rights current contract is an interim agency-wide contract that ends in September 2022. This contract aims to bridge service gaps until we finalize the permanent five-year agency-wide agreement. Due to the temporary contract's pending expiration and limited funding, on-call services are unavailable. If on-call services (every day, all day) are needed, please contact Reasonable Accommodations for approval.
If you have a one-time training/meeting/webinar/event or a reoccurring weekly or monthly meeting, please visit the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Portal to complete the online DHH Services Request Form. If you experience technical issues with the portal and have an immediate need, please submit this request form.
The Office of Civil Rights is working diligently to remove communication barriers and establish a long-term solution for accessible communication. We hope to have a permanent national contract in place beginning FY2023.
For questions about current services and requests, please email the DHH Services Team at wocr@usda.gov.
For technical problems, email the web contact: SM.FS.CRCT@usda.gov.
Thank you for your patience and understanding,
Anzanette Randall,
Acting Director, Office of Civil Rights
