Old growth comment period extended to Sept. 7
WASHINGTON, DC—This is a reminder that the internal employee comment deadline for the mature and old growth forest definition development effort is approaching. For more information about this effort, please visit Old-growth and Mature Forests Definition Development - Request for Information.
The original due date for internal employee only comments was tomorrow, Sept. 2, but due to the holiday weekend, we are extending it to Wednesday, Sept. 7.
As a reminder, we are inviting written employee input either individually or as part of consolidated feedback from units. We encourage leaders across the agency to support district, forest, lab, region and work-group level coordination, where unique local conditions and practices can be identified and comments prepared for internal collective submission.
Please submit either individual or collective employee comments to Deb McGlothlin, project manager, deborah.mcglothlin@usda.gov, with “mature and old growth employee comment” in the subject line. Responses are due no later than Sept. 7. This collective and individual feedback will give us a sense of the diversity of ideas internally and inform definition development efforts.
Thank you to all those who have taken time to submit comments already!
