USDA: Employee Native American/Alaska Native roundtable
Please join Secretary Vilsack for a roundtable discussion with leaders and representatives from the American Indian/Alaska Native USDA community. Secretary Vilsack will meet specifically with American Indian/Alaska Native USDA employees to discuss topics and issues unique to their experiences.
This roundtable is part of USDA’s workforce and culture efforts to engage with employees and make USDA a great place to work. Over the past year, the secretary and deputy secretary have engaged various communities and employee resource groups and look forward to listening to and engaging with employees to understand their experiences working at USDA and hear recommendations to foster a more inclusive, diverse, equitable and accessible USDA, both now and in the future.

The discussion will be moderated by Heather Dawn Thompson, director, Office of Tribal Relations. Roundtable participants: Pearl Martinez, bilingual program technician, Farm Service Agency; Melissa Sturdivant, tribal relations specialist, Rural Development; Troy Brave Heart, IT specialist, Office of the Chief Information Officer; Cassius Spears Jr., district conservationist, Natural Resources Conservation Service; and Rowena Yeahquo, tribal relations specialist, Forest Service.
