General Schedule (GS) employees including law enforcement officers have received a 4.1% basic pay raise for 2023, in addition to the locality rate increase. Locality increases vary depending on the location. The raise became effective the first day of pay period 1, on January 1, 2023, so most employees will begin receiving the increase starting with the January 23rd paycheck. • Senior Executive Service (SES), Senior Level (SL), and Scientific or Professional (ST) salary increases are performance based and managed by USDA.
