HRM: Updated eSafety portal coming soon

Safety is important in both our work and private lives. The Forest Service recognizes the importance of safety in the workplace; in fact, it is identified as a core value. In an effort to offer a rigorous tool to support improving the safety of the Forest Service, the eSafety software solution continues to receive development. We are excited a new release will be coming within the next few weeks.
What You Need to Know
eSafety serves the primary tool for both Worker’s Compensation and Safety and Occupational Health. The tool is responsible for tracking and reporting SOH incidents and accidents; as well as WC case management. Additionally, it produces Occupational Safety and Health Administration nd Department of Labor compliance reporting. The eSafety system is user friendly to all (eAuthenticated) employees, supervisors, safety and occupational health specialists, OWCP case managers, and a select amount of fleet managers.
The eSafety system also allows the Forest Service to make data driven decisions in an effort to improve the safety of our collective workplace. Metrics and monitoring allow for the identification of potentially dangerous locations and situations. Early identification allows for proper remediation, resulting in a reduction in future incidents; ultimately delivering a safer workplace.
What You Need to Do
The eSafety tool can be accessed by employees with eAuthentication privileges through the ConnectHR portal by clicking on the eSafety link found under the My Links area on the left side of the portal. Employees, volunteers and administratively determined employees that do not have access to eAuthentication should reach out to a supervisor to help assist in creating a case to record their injury/illness. All employees (eAuthenticated/non eAuthenticated) have the ability to report workplace hazards.
