Job opportunities will be available in areas the wildfire crisis poses the most immediate threat to communities. Through the strategy, these positions will work with states, Tribes, and other partners to address wildfire risks to critical infrastructure, protect communities, and make forests more resilient. Partnership Coordinators
Partnership Coordinators handle implementing, evaluating, and reporting partnership strategies as part of the Forest Service Partnership Program. The program forms partnerships focused on improving the health of the ecosystems, helping resource-dependent communities develop long term job opportunities, and engaging youth through local, state, or federal programs. Our Partnership Coordinators work to build relationships both within the Forest Service, while also building relationships with organizations and groups within their local communities.

Recreation Management Specialists
Recreation Program Managers work at a Supervisor's Office serving as the conduit between the Forest's upper management and recreation staff on the Districts. Their role is to advocate for sustainable recreation opportunities across the National Forest while balancing the needs of each unique District. In that capacity they inform the recreation program's budget and staffing, advocate for recreation projects in the Forest's program of work, and form relationships with partners, stakeholders, and other agencies. They also serve as the Forest's subject matter expert on all things recreation related; wilderness, trails, campgrounds, volunteers, recreation site fees, wild and scenic rivers, climbing, scenery management, and more.

Geospatial Systems Specialists
Geospatial Systems (GIS) Specialists are technical experts who help the Forest Service develop and use GIS technologies and data for project planning, natural resource management, training, and public engagement. They provide management, colleagues, and staff advice on GIS processes, protocols, and solutions for creating and analyzing geospatial information and using geospatial technologies. They use complex software to analyze, manipulate, and compare data to create important thematic map products and presentation materials to support management decisions, reports, planning, projects, and assessments. The also develop and deliver training for fellow agency GIS users for how to develop, store, retrieve, and analyze data.
