Mature and old growth second employee engagement session - July 27
WASHINGTON, DC—Last summer, the Forest Service began working in collaboration with the Bureau of Land Management to achieve the goals outlined in Executive Order 14072: “Strengthening the Nation’s Forests, Communities, and Local Economies.”
On April 21, 2023, the Forest Service released a report, as required by Section 2(b) of the EO, which defined, identified, and inventoried mature and old-growth forests on federal land. We’re now working to address Section 2(b)(ii) of the EO that asks the Forest Service and the BLM to analyze the threats to mature and old-growth forests on federal lands, including from wildfires and climate change.
You are invited to attend a second employee engagement session on July 27. In this webinar, we will share information about where we were, where are and what is next. The session will be an opportunity for you to share your thoughts and concerns, and to ask questions about the Mature and Old-Growth Forest Initiative. We look forward to your participation.
