HBCU students learn about preserving historic sites during their Cultural Heritage in the Forest visit to Ohio’s Wayne National Forest. Forest Service archaeologists Margaret Hangan and Andy Tremayne led the discussion at Tinker’s Cave, a rock shelter where notorious horse thief Shep Tinker hid his stolen mounts during the mid-1800s. This photo was the winner of the July 2023 employee photo contest: Moments of learning. USDA Forest Service photo by Kelly Miller.

WASHINGTON, DC—As children head back to school, we are pleased to highlight the winner of "Learning Moments," the latest theme in the employee photo contest.

Kelly Miller from Region 9 took top honors in July.

You, too, can have your photo highlighted on our national Flickr account. August's theme is "Artistic images," visuals that use photography as a creative and imaginative platform to express an idea or concept. And as summer winds down, we look forward to fall with September's theme: People and fall colors.
