HRM: Submit positions to be filled at the 2023 Annual Society of American Foresters by Oct. 3

The Forest Service will be hosting an in person hiring event for forestry and timber positions on Oct. 25 – 28 during the 2023 Society of American Foresters Conference in Sacramento, Calif. This annual event focuses on recruiting and hiring student interns, recent graduates, and individuals who are pursuing careers in forestry, natural resources, and others. Applicants do not need to attend the SAF Conference to apply for these career opportunities. Job posting information is below.

What you need to do

No later than Oct. 3, hiring managers who want to fill positions at this hiring event will need to submit positions using the FY 2024 SAF Hiring Intake Form.

Position information

The positions listed below will be posted on USAJOBS.gov between Oct. 24 – Nov. 1 and the vacancy announcements will be posted on the Forestry and Timber Career Opportunities webpage.

Pay grades for these positions are entry level GS-02 for current vocational students, GS-03/04 for current undergraduates and GS-05 for graduate students. To view the 2023 pay scale, please visit the OPM salary website.

    • Forestry Technician Interns—Job Series: 0499. Entry grade GS-02. Planned conversion with full performance level GS-0462-05. Position description: 3PW000.
