Employee Assistance Program transitions to new service provider

February 10, 2026

The Forest Service continues to invest in the safety and well-being of all employees, using a hybrid approach to our Employee Assistance Program to ensure employees have access to comprehensive support and resources. Forest Service employee support specialists are available to walk you through available resources to meet your health and well-being needs.

As part of the hybrid model, the Forest Service partners with external service providers. Our current EAP contract with Acentra Health expires in April. To ensure continuity of services, the Forest Service has started to transition to an EAP partnership with Federal Occupational Health, with services available as of Feb. 1. This intentional period of overlap is to ensure no interruption in access to care.

What does this mean for you?

For employees, accessing support will remain simple, confidential and uninterrupted. Forest Service employee support specialists will continue to serve as your first point of contact for EAP-related support, resource navigation and management consultation. Employee support specialists will guide you every step of the way to help ensure you are connected to the right resources as easily as possible.

If you have already started EAP services with Acentra, you can continue to access those services through March 31. If you are seeking new EAP services, contact Federal Occupational Health at 800-222-0364 (TTY 711).

Through our new partnership, services will continue to be available to you and eligible family members, spouses, domestic partners, parents and children. Services include:

  • Personalized referrals and management consultations

  • EAP orientations

  • Access to short-term counseling (up to six sessions per issue per year) with a nationwide network of more than 20,000 licensed clinicians

  • Immediate support from triage counselors

  • Health and wellness webinars

  • Legal and financial services
