Working Together
The Forest Service works closely with partners to further its conservation work. Whether through volunteerism, special agreements, laws that set up advisory committees, contracts, and grant opportunities, the Forest Service has many ways to enlist the help of citizens for the good of the national forests.
Volunteering
Volunteers make up a significant part of the Forest Service workforce. They contribute thousands of hours to restoring watersheds, guiding youth, trail maintenance, hosting campgrounds, monitoring wildlife populations and far more.
