Forest Order
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited within the Arapaho National Recreation Area, Arapaho National Forest, until further notice:
I CAMPING A. Camping, except in developed recreation site open to camping and designated dispersed camping area shown on the attached map, Exhibit A. 36 CFR 261.58 (e). B. Camping more than seven (7) consecutive days at the following campgrounds: Stillwater, Willow Creek, Green Ridge, Arapaho Bay, Cutthroat Bay. 36 CFR 261.58 (a). C. Camping within 100 feet of Monarch Lake and Meadow Creek Reservoir. 36 CFR 261.58 (e). D. Use of a developed campsite by more than 5 individuals, unless individuals are immediate family members, up to a maximum of 12 individuals in the following campgrounds: Stillwater, Willow Creek, Green Ridge and Arapaho Bay. 36 CFR 261.58 (f).
II FIRES A. Building, maintaining, attending or using fires and campfires within 100 feet of Meadow Creek Reservoir. 36 CFR 261.52 (a). B. Building, maintaining, attending or using fires and campfires except in developed sites or designated dispersed areas as shown on the attached map, Exhibit A. 36 CFR 261.52 (a).
III DOGS A. Possessing or transporting dogs is prohibited, except on a hand-held leash no longer than six feet, within 100 feet of the Monarch Lake trail and Monarch Lake. 36 CFR 261.58 (s). B. Dogs are prohibited in the Strawberry Bench Area, as shown on the attached map, Exhibit A. 36 CFR 261.58 (s). C. Possessing or transporting pets, except in a vehicle, crate, or on a hand held leash no longer than six feet in area along the east shore line of Columbine Bay on Lake Granby. The area begins the lake at Columbine Bay and continues south to where the Park Service-Forest Service boundary turns east (SW1/4, SEC. 29; E1/2, SEC. 32, T3N, R75W), as shown on the attached map, Exhibit B. 36 CFR 261.58 (s) (Exceptions will be made for hunting dogs while hunting during legal seasons)

Possessing or operating a motorboat in the area of Shadow Mountain Lake bounded by a line from the inlet of the North Fork Colorado River through Islands 1, 2, 3, and 4 to the east end of Rosey Point, as shown on the attached map, Exhibit A. 36 CFR 261.58 (n). B. Storing or leaving any watercraft unattended on any public lands, lakeshores, or lakes except as authorized by a permit or while the owner or operator is camping in the immediate vicinity. 36 CFR 261.58 (p).
V VEHICLE USE A. Possessing or using motor vehicles, except snowmobiles operating on snow and vehicles less than 1,000 lbs. operating on frozen reservoirs, off designated roadways. 36 CFR 261.56. B. Possessing or using motorized vehicles or bicycles inside Point Park Picnic Area except when parked in designated locations. 36 CFR 261.56. E. Landing aircraft on the surface of Shadow Mountain, Granby, Willow Creek, Meadow Creek, and Monarch Lakes. 36 CFR 261.58 (y).
VI AREAS CLOSED TO ENTRY A. Entering into or being upon certain areas and islands within the Arapaho National Recreation Area, when posted closed for the protection of nesting osprey or bald eagle. 36 CFR 261.53 (a). B. Being upon, or in the water, beneath or within 100 feet either side of, the footbridge on Grand Lake - Shadow Mountain Lake Connecting Canal located in the SE 1/4 section 6, Township 3 N., Range 75 W., 6th P.M., Grand County, Colorado, when posted during periods of heavy water runoff. 36 CFR 261.53 (e). C. Entering into or being upon certain areas when from November 15 to May 1 to protect critical elk and deer winter range when posted closed. 36 CFR 261.53 (b).
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e), the following persons are exempt from this order: 1. Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission. 2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of any official duty.
