Forest Order

Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551, and 36 CFR 261.50(a) and (b), the following act is prohibited on National Forest System (NFS) lands within the Sulphur Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests, Grand County, Colorado, described below and depicted on the attached map incorporated into this Order as Exhibit A (the “Restricted Area”). The purpose of this Order is to protect natural resources and the water quality in the adjacent streams. 

RESTRICTED AREA: • NFS lands within ¼ mile on either side of NFS Road 148 and NFS Road 156 as shown on Exhibit A. The Restricted Area is located in Sections 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, Township 2 South, Range 75 West, 6th Principal Meridian. 

PROHIBITIONS: 1. Camping. (When provided by an order, the following are prohibited: Camping. 36 CFR 261.58(e)) 

EXEMPTIONS: Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order: 1. Persons with a Forest Service special use authorization or other authorization specifically exempting them from the effect of this Order. 2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty. These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A. This Order supersedes, rescinds, and replaces Order # ARP-SRD-2021-02 dated May 11, 2021. This Order will be in effect when signed and shall remain in effect until May 11, 2026, or until rescinded
