Danner Pass (#926)

Danner Pass Trail (#926) and Lookout Mountain Trail (#934) intersect near their midpoints. The northern portion of the Danner Pass Trail between County Road 44H and Danner Pass and the Lookout Mountain Trail are open to motorcycles and dirt bikes. Motorcycles and dirt bikes using this trail must be registered as an OHV with Colorado Parks and Wildlife. The Danner Pass Cutoff Trail (#926-1) (no motor vehicles permitted) provides a short (0.57 mile) cutoff from the Danner Trail to the Miller Fork Trail.

Directions

Danner Pass Trail can be accessed from several locations. A favorite beginning is located on County Road 44H, Buckhorn Road, just west of the Buckhorn Ranger Station. Another northern access is located on a branch of Greer Road (Forest Road 154) off of Ballard Road (Forest Road 129), and the third access is located farther south where Ballard Road intersects the trail. Danner Pass also can be accessed from the south via the Dunraven Trailhead by hiking up Bulwark Ridge Trail (#928.1) and down Indian Trail (#927) to where it meets the Miller Fork Trail (#997). Hikers may chose to go right or left onto the Miller Fork Trail, as either direction will junction with the Danner Pass Trail.
