Plantation Flats Dispersed Camping
Overview
Plantation Flats is a dispersed camping area on the Fillmore Ranger District, located 6 miles from Oak City, Utah.
Facilities
A vault toilet and dispersed tent and limited trailer camping opportunities are available. Site remains busy through the summer months especially on weekends and holidays. This is a first come, first serve camping area.
Natural Features
Located approximately 1 mile east of the Oak Creek Campground on a gravel surface forest road number 089. Plantation Flats is a popular dispersed site due to the overstory of Ponderosa trees. A small seasonal stream flows on the south side of Plantation Flats.
Recreation
Popular activities in the area include ATV/UTV riding, fishing, hiking, biking, horseback riding and wildlife watching.
General Information
May - October
- You may camp in a dispersed area for up to 16 days. After 16 days, you must move at least 5 road miles for camping in another dispersed area. Campers may not spend more than 16 days of any 30-day period at the same dispersed area.
- Keep a Pack-In Pack-Out camp. Follow Leave No Trace principles.
- Use existing campfire rings when possible and always check fire restrictions before your trip.
- Fireworks are prohibited on all National Forest Lands.
No fees are required for this site
- Pets must be leashed at all times within this recreation area. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors and to protect wildlife.
- Clean up dog waste and dispose of it properly.
- Keep dogs from chasing, harassing, and disturbing wildlife, livestock or other visitors.
- When on a trail, yield to other hikers, horses, and other trail users by stepping off the trail and keeping control of your dog.

Directions
The Plantation Flats Camping Area is located 6.5 miles east of Oak City, Utah. From Oak City, head east on Center Street for 0.2 miles. Center street will turn right and become 200 E. After 0.1 mile, turn left onto the Oak Creek Canyon Road (FR-089) and travel another 6.2 miles. See google maps link below for directions.
