Current Conditions
Closed for multiple seasons due to fire damage being unsafe to occupy due to hazardous trees. May be closed during the 2026 summer season. Call ahead during Almanor Ranger District normal business hours for most up-to-date status.
Echo Lake Campground is near Echo Lake and walking distance to the Caribou Wilderness. It is a dispersed campground. A maximum of 8 people per site is allowed.
General Information
Echo Lake was heavily affected by the Dixie Fire and will stay closed until further notice.
- Quiet hours are 10pm to 6am
- Campfires allowed only in provided fire rings
- 1 vehicle and 8 persons allowed in each campsite
- Pets must remain on a leash or confined at all times
- Site must be occupied each night after equipment is set up/left in a campsite
- Fireworks and tiki torches prohibited
