This dispersed area is generally always open to the public, except if under closure order. The area is not maintained, use at your discretion.

Ishi Wilderness trailhead located along Ponderosa Way on the east side of the wilderness. 

General Information

mid-April - November

This trailhead is usually open mid-April through November, although not regularly maintained. It may be inaccessible during winter months due to snow and weather. 

Campfires in fire rings or portable cookstoves only with valid CA campfire permit; no camping within 100' of water bodies; pack out trash; dogs must be on leash; 14-day maximum stay; maximum group size 25
