Volunteers
Volunteers are the heartbeat of the Forest Service. The types of work a volunteer can perform are many and varied; the only tasks a volunteer cannot carry out are those associated with law enforcement.
Do you enjoy camping and meeting new people? Would you like to spend the summer enjoying the great outdoors? The Lassen National Forest is looking for volunteers to be seasonal campground hosts. Campground hosts are volunteer staff who receive free camping and, as available, hook-ups at one of the forest's campgrounds in exchange for welcoming campers and helping them to enjoy their visit. Additionally hosts also perform light maintenance duties such as picking up litter, painting picnic tables and a variety of easy tasks.
Campground host opportunities are available on the Almanor, Eagle Lake, and Hat Creek Ranger Districts.
Volunteer Application You can print and mail your application or email it to Janie Ackley, Volunteer Coordinator.
