Closure Order for Pelletreau Ridge Rd and Wintoon Flat Rd in Trinity County
Forest Service issues closure order for Pelletreau Ridge Road, Wintoon Flat Road in Trinity County
REDDING, Calif. (Jan. 3, 2025) - A portion U.S. Forest Service Road 3N10 (Pelletreau Ridge Road) and all of Forest Service Road 3N30 (Wintoon Flat Road) near Hyampom will be closed due to a portion of the roadway being washed out from storm damage.
The closure order will be in effect from January 4, 2025, through December 31, 2025.
The roads are commonly used by travelers driving between Hyampom Valley and South Fork Mountain.
The washout occurred near the intersection of 3N10 and 3N30. About 80 feet of the road has been washed out, making it impassable.
The closure affects Forest Road 3N10 (Pelletreau Ridge Road) from the intersection with Trinity County Road 311 for approximately 1.75 miles to 500 feet beyond the intersection with Forest Road 3N30 (Wintoon Flat Road) and all of Forest Road 3N30 within the Shasta-Trinity National Forest.
The following persons are exempt from this order:
- Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (permit for use of roads, trails, or areas restricted by regulation or order), specifically exempting them from this order.
- Any federal, state, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire-fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
- Residents/property owners with parcels along Forest Roads 3N10 and 3N30.
A violation of this prohibition is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both.
