Gates Group Campground
Gates Group Campground is located on the east shore of French Meadows Reservoir in a coniferous forest. Campground is in close proximity to the Granite Chief Wilderness.
Group sites can accommodate RVs or tents. Features are cooking grills, campfire rings with benches, serving and eating tables, and lots of tent space. Black Bear (in Coyote Group Campgrounds) has a flush restroom and is designed for accessibility. All other sites have vault toilets. All group sites have piped water.
General Information
2 sites which can hold 25 people and 1 site which can hold 75 people located along the North Fork American River. Gates Group Campground is located in Tahoe, CA, near French Meadows and Foresthill. This campground is at an elevation of 5,200 feet and is within a coniferous forest and reservoir. Temperatures consist of warm days and cool evenings. Provided for campers are vault toilets, piped drinking water, paved roads and parking areas, tables, firerings, and cooking grills. Popular activities include hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, and nature study. Firewood is sold at the campground. Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. No refunds are given for bad weather. A fee for extra vehicles will be collected at the campground. Pets must be leashed.

Check in: 2:00 p.m.; Check-out: 12:00 p.m.; Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
Firearms or any other implements of destruction (including but not limited to bow & arrow and slingshots) are prohibited in this area; camping outside designated campground is prohibited in this area.

Group Site: $82/night (25 people), $165/night (75 people).

Directions
From Foresthill: Drive 36 miles east on Mosquito Ridge Road (Forest Road 96). Campground is on east shore of French Meadows Reservoir.
Access is through Foresthill California. This campground is extremely remote and there are no services available. Please be sure to have a full tank of gas before traveling.
