Management
The Tahoe National Forest has a variety of aviation and ground fire resources that respond when a wildfire breaks out on the forest’s 1.2 million acres.
The forest’s fire personnel are part of a much larger group of agency cooperators that work together to accomplish fire suppression and management both on National Forest System lands and lands managed by our partners. Every summer, the forest has hundreds of firefighters that are highly trained in their respective fields and unique in how they contribute to the Tahoe National Forest Fire and Aviation Program.
