Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50(a), and to provide for public safety and protection of wildlife, the following acts are prohibited within the Cle Elum Ranger District of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. This Order supersedes and withdraws Closure Order 06-17-03-21-01, signed August 19, 2021 by Kristin Bail, and is effective October 13, 2023 and will remain in effect through October 13, 2025, unless rescinded sooner.
PROHIBITIONS:
1. Entering into or being upon National Forest System lands, as described below
and displayed on the attached map, Exhibit A [36 CFR § 261.53(e)].
CLOSURE AREA DESCRIPTION:
1. The area 1000 feet north of FS road 4832 from the junction with the National Forest boundary (T. 22N., R. 11 E., Section 15) to the junction with FS Road 4832-142.
2. The area from I-90 to FS road 4832, from the junction with the National Forest boundary (T. 22 N., R. 11 E., Section 15) to the section line between Section 14 and 15, T. 21N. R. 12 E.
3. The area 1000 feet west of I-90 from the National Forest boundary (T. 22 N., R. 11 E., Section 15) to Keechelus Dam. Within the Keechelus Reservoir, the closure only applies to land (not water).
4. The area bounded by Keechelus Dam, the Yakima River, and 30 feet from the eastside of the FS road 5400.
FSR 4832, FSR 5400, and FSR 5480 will remain open to public access during the closure
period.
