Provides access to the Upper Mad River Trail and numerous side trails.

Trail closed north of Mad Lake due to the Pomas Fire.

Directions

From Leavenworth, travel north on Chumstick Highway 14 miles to community of Plain. Turn right on Chiwawa Loop Road and travel about 4 miles to Thousand Trails Campground. Turn right on Forest Service Rd #6100. Travel about 2 miles to Deep Creek Campground. Turn right on Forest Service Rd #6101 and travel about 5 miles to trailhead at Maverick Saddle.
