Pacific Northwest Trail Recreation - Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest

The Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail offers opportunities to explore rugged and wild landscapes within the Okanogan Wenatchee National Forest.

The Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail, running from Glacier National Park to the Pacific Ocean, crosses lands of multiple jurisdictions, including National Forests, National Parks, as well as local and state jurisdiction. The best resource for information on any part of the trail, for all jurisdictions is the Pacific Northwest Trail Association.

A majority of this section of the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail traverses the Pasayten Wilderness, where restrictions apply.

Getting There

Trailhead/Starting Points

Iron Gate Trailhead - provides access to the Boundary Trail #533 which accesses the Pacific Northwest Trail and the eastern Pasayten Wilderness at Horseshoe Basin (Colville National Forest).

Thirtymile Trailhead – Chewuch Trail 510 and Tungsten Trail 534 provide access to the eastern Pasayten Wilderness, Cathedral Peak and Apex Pass areas of the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail.

Andrews Creek Trailhead – Trail 504 Andrews Creek provides access to the eastern Pasayten Wilderness and the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail at Spanish Camp.

Billy Goat Trailhead – Larch Creek Trail 502 provides access to the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail and the middle Pasayten Wilderness at Pevee Pass and Quartz Mountain.

Robinson Creek Trailhead –  Robinson Creek Trail 478 provides access to the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail and the western Pasayten Wilderness at the Airport.

Canyon Creek Trailhead - Jackita Ridge Trail 738 provides access to the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail and the western Pasayten Wilderness via the popular Devil’s Dome area.

Note: Equestrian access is one of the recreation opportunities for the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail, for all trailheads except Canyon Creek.
