  • Road Closure on Forest Service Road (FSR) 1861

    A landslide occurred on Nov. 12, 2021 closing multiple sections of Forest Service Road (FSR) 1861.

    The first landslide occurred about 100 feet west of Highway 101 on FSR 1861. The road is impassible and closed to vehicles. Hart’s Cove Trail #1303 can be accessed by hiking the Rainforest Trail #1310 (previously known as Cascade Head Trail). 

    The second landslide occurred near the town of Rose Lodge on a portion of the southern segment of FSR 1861. The closure starts near the FSR 1861 intersection with State Highway 18 and ends at the Forest Service boundary gate, approximately 1.5 miles northwest of State Highway 18.

To provide for public safety, the following acts are prohibited in the areas described in this Order within the administrative boundaries of the Siuslaw National Forest.

AREA DESCRIPTION

This Order applies to two segments of Forest Service Road (FSR) 1861000. Both segments are located on the Siuslaw National Forest. One segment (mileposts 0.0 to 1.55) is in Lincoln County, Oregon. The second segment (mileposts 7.3 to 11.33) is in Tillamook County, Oregon. This Order prohibits all motorized and mechanized vehicles on FSR 1861000 between mileposts 0.0 and 1.55, and between mileposts 7.3 and 11.33.
