Fingerboard Prairie Trailhead

This trailhead provides access to:

  • Deer Butte Trail #3508
  • Benson Lake Trail #3502
  • Scott Mountain Trail #4339
  • Hand Lake Trail #3513

Current Conditions
Access is dependent on McKenzie Highway (OR Hwy 242), which is closed in the winter.

General Information

There are two types of entry permits required between June 15 and October 15 for entering the Mt. Washington Wilderness from this trailhead.

Within developed recreation sites, dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet, or otherwise under physical restrictive control. 36 CFR 261.16(j)

Getting There

Directions

From McKenzie Bridge, OR, travel east on Highway 126 for 8 miles to Forest Road 2649 (Scott Creek). Turn right on Forest Road 2649, heading uphill 8 miles to Forest Road 676. Turn left and drive to Fingerboard Prairie Trailhead at the end of the road.
