Big Scrub Campground

Popular with OHV enthusiasts, the 47-site Big Scrub Campground is in the heart of the Big Scrub in the south central portion of the Ocala National Forest. A trailhead provides riders campsite-to-trail access for the Ocala Centennial Trail.

Camping

  • Tents, campers and RVs are welcome at Big Scrub Campground, where we have showers, restrooms and drinkable water.

OHV Riding 

  • Campers with ATVs are also welcome, where there is direct access from the campground to the 47-mile Ocala Centennial Trail.
Current Conditions
Expect full recreation sites during weekends. Have backup plans. Sites may close when capacity is reached.

Licenses and Passes

OHV Riding 

  • To ride our OHV trails, you’ll need a pass and safety gear. Riders under 16 must pass an online course. Our OHV web page has all the information you need for a safe, enjoyable trip. 

This site is seasonally closed. Gates open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Check-in: 3 p.m.
Check-out: 11 a.m.

Overnight Use:
Single Site: $20/night.
Interagency Senior/Access Recreation Passes provide a 50% discount to Single Campsites ONLY.
*The discount applies only to the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass holder, not to any additional fee or campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass holder's party.*
