Grassland Management Fuel Reduction
This decision (on the Medford-Park Falls District, Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, Price County, WI) includes using prescribed fire in combination with mowing to reduce hazardous fuels across approximately 237 acres of grassland fuel types in an area which is located within a wildland-urban interface (WUI). This includes cooperatively burning about 34 acres of adjacent private grasslands requested by adjacent landowners under the Wyden Act authority. The project is currently being implemented.
