Hwy 63 CWPP Project
This project was developed as a part of the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) for the Towns of Barnes and Drummond. The CWPP was developed as a collaborative effort between Bayfield County, the Town of Barnes, the Town of Drummond, Wisconsin DNR, and the Forest Service. This proposal includes removal of ladder fuels and reducing dead and down surface fuels located within 200 feet of each side of Hwy 63. Ladder fuels treatments improve health and vigor of the timber stands by removing brush and tree vegetation competition. In addition the proposed activities reduce the risk of fire spread along the Hwy 63 corridor that could pose a threat to the town of Drummond by breaking up the continuity of fuels in the project area. This Project is located in the vicinity of Highway 63 near Drummond, Wisconsin.
