Bridgeport Ranger District

The Bridgeport Ranger District office is located in Bridgeport (pop. 575), California, The District also lies in four counties including Douglas, Lyon, and Mineral in Nevada and Mono in California. The Bridgeport Ranger District is over one million acres in both Nevada (637,654) and California (375,721). The District is known for being a popular recreation spot in the Eastern Sierra Nevada and western Great Basin, since it borders the Yosemite National Park. The District also manages a congressionally designated winter recreation area located near Sonora Pass in California, which offers extreme backcountry snowmobiling with deep snow, big bowls, and steep mountainous terrain.
