Hope Valley Campground


Hope Valley Campground is located in its beautiful namesake valley at an elevation of 7,300 feet, surrounded by Jeffrey and lodgepole pines. The West Fork Carson River runs nearby, offering rainbow and cutthroat trout fishing. Numerous trails in the area provide excellent hiking and backpacking opportunities.

Generally open mid May through mid September, as weather and conditions allow.

Reservations: Reservations are required for most campsites by calling Toll Free 1-877-444-6777 (International 518-885-3639) or on-line at http://www.recreation.gov/.  Sites 1,3, 11, 15, and 20 require no reservation and are first come first served.

General Information


From Carson City or Minden, Nevada:

  1. Take Highway 88 approximately 21 miles to Blue Lakes Road (Blue Lakes Road turnoff is approximately two miles west of the Highway 89/Luther Pass junction (also known as Picketts Junction).
  2. Turn left. Travel approximately 1¼ miles to the Hope Valley Campground entrance, which is on the right-hand side of road.
