Whether it's fishing, waterwater rafting, or a relaxing day in a canoe, water recreation is abundant.

The North Platte River, which flows through both the Medicine Bow and Routt National Forest, is just one example of the many areas available for recreation. The river, which passes through the Platte River Wilderness area, is known for it's excellent blue ribbon trout fishing, rafting and kayaking.

The surrounding area also provides camping, hiking, backpacking and hunting. To find access points within the forest, please click here. For public access areas off the forest, please visit the Wyoming Game and Fish Department website.
