Please click on individual site pages for recreation site status.  Many campgrounds and picnic areas are now open; however some remain closed.

Whenever possible, please recreate locally. Visitors should practice self-sufficiency when visiting national forests and come prepared with all the essentials needed for your trip, including food, emergency supplies, and the ability to pack-out trash. Remember to recreate responsibly by keeping the following in mind:

• Please avoid visiting if you are sick and/or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
• If an area is crowded, move to a less occupied location.
• Consider avoiding the forest during high-use periods such as holiday weekends.
• Maintain at least six feet distancing from others
• Do not gather in groups other than those in your household
• Pack out your trash and leave with everything you bring in and use
• High risk activities such as rock climbing or backcountry activities that increase your chance of injury or distress should be avoided. Law enforcement and/or search and rescue operations may be limited at this time.
