In January 2022, the Forest Service published the Confronting the Wildfire Crisis: A Strategy for Protecting Communities and Improving Resilience in America’s Forests, a plan that calls for the Agency to urgently treat up to 20 million acres on National Forest System lands, and up to an additional 30 million acres of other Federal, State, Tribal, and private lands. |
