Historic Ranger Station Interpretive Site

The Historic Ranger Station Interpretive Site can be accessed from the Blackrock Ranger Station. This office was built by the first District Ranger Rosie Rosecrans in 1906. It can be visited during the office hours of 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and it contains many items from different periods of early Forest Service History.

Elkhart - Pine Creek Trailhead

This trailhead offers a large parking area and is adjacent to Trails End Campground. It is a large capacity trailhead, with toilet facilities and has nearby access to the visitor center. For those users wishing to camp with your livestock, this is an excellent location. Corrals are located adjacent to the parking areas and camping units. Kendall Dace Interpretive Site

The Kendall Dace interpretive Site is located in the Upper Green River Valley, approximately 5 miles from the end of paved Highway #352. The Kendall Warm Spring Dace in on the Endangered Species list and is only found in the Kendall Warm Springs. Visitors can utilize the primitive pull out and view the dace from the shore, but entering the water is prohibited.

Munger Mountain North Trailhead

This trailhead is located off of the Fall Creek Road out of Wilson, Wyoming just before Red Top Meadows. It has a small gravel parking area directly off the road in an open grassy area surrounded by beautiful aspen stands. This is the main non-motorized access to the Munger Mountain Trail System, but is open to motorcycles from 07/01 to 09/09. The main access trail begins right across the road from the parking area…

LaBarge Interpretive Site

The LaBarge Interpretive Site is a kiosk at this entrance to the Kemmerer Ranger District with current forest Information.

Section Corner Trailhead

Access to this trailhead requires a high clearance, 4-wheel drive vehicle.  This trail takes you to Section Corner Lake and Trapper Lake within the Bridger Wilderness.  This trail does travel through the 2008 New Fork Fire, so be prepared for downed trees and little shade.

Meadow Lake Boating Site

This is an undeveloped boat ramp, no pavement, suitable for small watercraft only.  No dock is available and a single vault toilet is onsite.    The drive in is a bit rough, high clearance vehicles recommended.

CCC Ponds Interpretive Site

Located at the southern end of Fremont Lake, 5 miles from Pinedale lie the CCC Ponds.  With a large parking lot, a vaulted toilet, dirt and paved trails, benches, picnic tables and plenty of wildlife viewing this is a local favorite.

Cache Creek Picnic Area

Cache Creek is one of the most popular trail networks in the Jackson area for hiking, biking and walking dogs. Picnic tables are available at the trailhead and about 1/4 mile up the trail, offering options to combine a picnic lunch or dinner with a family hike. Slate Creek Trailhead

This is a fairly remote trailhead, located just off the Gros Ventre Road near Crystal Creek where the road turns to native material. This is a remote trailhead in the Mt Leidy Highlands, north of the Gros Ventre Road. It is located alongside Cottonwood Creek and is mostly open sagebrush flats. area is primarily used during the fall hunting season. Horsetail Creek Trailhead

This trailhead is located directly on the Gros Ventre Road adjacent to lower Slide Lake.  It is a large gravel parking area and is mostly open with surrounding willows and sagebrush.  This trailhead provides access to the Horsetail Creek Trail #4090, a 10 mile motorized trail open to motorcycles from 07/01-09/09.  After September 9, the trail is used by hikers and horse riders primarily for hunting.…

Strawberry Warming Hut

A Winter time ammenity, the warming hut provides a shelter and warm meeting place during your winter time adventures on the Bridger-Teton National Forest.  This warming hut sits along the Continental Divide Snowmobile Trail and is maintained by your local snowmachine clubs.  

White Pine Ski Area

White Pine Ski Area is located in the beautiful Wind River Mountains, just 10 miles outside of Pinedale.  The ski area is operated under a special use permit issued by the U.S. Forest Service.  There are two lifts which provide access to 25 downhill runs and there are 35K of Nordic ski trails nearby.  Year-round recreation and overnight stay is available.

Sylvan Bay Swimming Area

Approximately 7 miles north of Pinedale, and just a short hike from Fremont Campground is Sylvan Bay.  This day use area provides quiet little beach and a vaulted toilet.   The vehicle access is a narrow, dirt road to this site and parking is limited.  Please no overnight use or campfires.
