Your national forests and grasslands are 193 million acres of vast, scenic beauty waiting for you to discover. Over 3 million acres of land located in 22 National Recreation Areas managed by the Forest Service is preserved for recreational activities like hiking, boating, fishing and swimming, while highlighting natural, cultural and scenic resources. Visitors who choose to recreate on these public lands find 164,000 miles of trails, over 30,000 recreation sites, over 5,000 miles of streams and 3 million acres of lakes, 127 alpine ski areas, 338,000 heritage sites, and specially designated sites that include 37 million acres of designated wilderness areas, 130 wild and scenic rivers, 15 monuments, and one preserve. Oak Flats (6W14)

Orosco Ridge

In 2010 the Orosco Ridge shooting area closed, but the area remains open for recreational use. The road is subject to closure based on weather or fire danger. News Release

El Cariso Visitor Center

Located on the Trabuco Ranger District the El Cariso Visitor Center opened to the public on October 8. 2004. The visitor center is open on Saturday's, expect the third Saturday of the month, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The visitor center provides visitors with campground, recreational opportunities, forest use restrictions information, and wilderness permits.

The Outpost by Valley Farms

Corral Canyon OHV Area

NO campfires or open flames allowed anywhere in the Corral Canyon OHV Area or OHV campgrounds. USDA Forest Service approved Spark Arresters are required year-round. San Diego River Gorge Trail The San Diego River Gorge (SDRG) trail runs east from the Ramona Area and can provide access to Cedar Creek Falls, a spectacular waterfall plunging 80 feet into a large pool of water.
