The Forest Service follows NEPA regulations issued by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Under this rule, Forest Service officials determine which proposed projects are shared for public input.

The agency no longer issues a schedule of proposed actions (SOPA) report. Below is the current list of proposed projects available for review—your opportunity to learn more, share feedback, and stay engaged in decisions that shape the future of our public lands.

Shasta-Trinity National Forest Projects

Construction, installation, operation, use, and maintenance of approximately 26,018 feet of aerial and buried fiber optic cable on National Forest System lands is proposed by American Dark Fiber. American Dark Fiber requests a special use authorization for occupancy of NFS lands for fiber optic uses

The Project designed to reduce the risks associated with high intensity wildfire and improve forest health and function through forest thinning, reduction of hazardous fuels, reforestation and prescribed fire.

e Project is being designed to lower high- severity wildfire risk to the community of Junction City by reducing hazardous fuels around the community and improving forest health and resilience.

The proposed project is designed to reduce risk to rural communities from catastrophic wildfire by reducing hazardous fuels, increasing safety adjacent to critical egress/ingress routes, and improving the resiliency of forested ecosystems.

The project is proposed to recover the economic value of fire impacted stands, reduce the risk from roadside hazards, accelerate forest recovery, and reduce the likelihood and intensity of a reburn.
