SPECIAL ORDER

CUSTER GALLATIN NATIONAL FORESTS Order No. 01-11-00-13-05

AREA CLOSURE

Pursuant to 36 CFR Section 261.50 (a), the following act(s) are prohibited within the area described in Attachment A of this order on the Custer Gallatin National Forest.

Prohibited Act(s): Placing, or maintaining any mechanical device, snare, deadfall or pit or device capable of capturing any wildlife or domesticated animal.

1. Public health or safety. 36 CFR 261.53(e)
2. Property. 36 CFR 261.53(±)

Pursuant to Title 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following are exempt from this restriction:

        (1) Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission. 

These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.

Violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both.
