Campground Camping
There are numerous campgrounds available within the Custer Gallatin National Forest.
The Custer Gallatin National Forest Camp Picnic Guide is a printable brochure to the campgrounds and picnic areas on the Custer Gallatin National Forest. It is available free of charge at our district offices.
For information about a specific campground select it by district and name from the "Find an Area" menu in the right sidebar.
A list of our campgrounds which are near Yellowstone National Park is also available.
Reservations
Reservations for some of our campgrounds and picnic areas can be made online at recreation.gov or call 1-877-444-6777

Rules for camping
- Camping or otherwise occupying a single site for over 16 consecutive days; and/or camping or otherwise occupying any number of sites for 32 cumulative days in a calendar year is prohibited within all Northern Region (Region 1) National Forest System (NFS) lands within Montana.
- Travel to campsites must not create resource damage
- Please use existing fire rings and avoid creating new fire rings.
- Contact local district office for information on fire restrictions. It is your responsibility to know if fire restrictions are in effect before camping.
- Be bear aware and know the food storage regulations before camping. These regulations are strictly enforced.
