Forest Order
Pursuant to Title 16 United States Code (U.S.C.) § 551 and 36 Code of Federal Regulations (C.F.R.) § 261.50 (a), the following acts are prohibited on National Forest System lands within the Clear Creek Ranger District of the Arapaho National Forest that are located in Clear Creek County herein referred to as the “Restricted Area”. The restricted area is defined as one-quarter mile of either side of National Forest System Road (NFSR) #194 (Soda Creek Road) also known as Clear Creek County Road #140. The restricted area begins one-quarter mile before (northeast of) the intersection of NFSR #194 and County Road #151 (Little Bear Creek Road) continuing to one-quarter mile past (southwest of) the Barbour Fork Trailhead. The closure is located in T4S, R73W, sections 1, 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, and 12 6th P.M. as depicted on the attached map, hereby incorporated into this Order as Exhibit A. The purpose of this Order is to ensure visitor safety; assure the protection of resources; address sanitation; and preserve the visual quality of the area.
PROHIBITIONS: 1. Camping within the Restricted Areas. 36 CFR § 261.58(e). 2. Building, maintaining, attending, or using a fire, campfire or stove fire within the Restricted Area. 36 CFR § 261.52(a). 3. Being in the Restricted Area after sundown or before sunrise. 36 CFR § 261.58(l).
EXEMPTIONS: Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this ORDER: 1. Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited 2. Any Federal, State or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty. This Order will be in effect when signed and will remain in effect until rescinded.
